For twelve years, I have been writing and editing medical books, articles, and other resources for both consumers and medical professionals. Prior to becoming a freelance writer and editor, I was employed by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) as the Manager, Practice Management and Professional Support, where I advised physicians on how to manage their medical practices.

I have written extensively in the areas of patient safety, risk management, accreditation compliance, clinical privileging and credentialing, practice management, medication management, infection prevention and control, transitions of care, cancer, and plastic surgery procedures.

I am an experienced blog writer and have written numerous consumer-related Web articles and blog entries with an eye toward SEO.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Rockhurst College/Research College of Nursing and a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. I am a member of the American Medical Writers Association and the Editorial Freelancers Association.
